Governor Mai Mala Buni has presented the 2023 Finance and Appropriation bills of over one hundred and sixty three billion naira before the Yobe state House of Assembly.
While addressing the legislators, Governor Buni explained that,the budget proposal consist of recurrent expenditure of over eighty seven billion naira representing fifty seven point nine percent of the budget while the capital expenditure Stand at over seventy five billion naira representing forty two point two percent.
The sectoral allocation according to him, the economic sector got the highest allocation of about forth four billion naira, followed by the social sector with over tenth two billion naira and the administrative received over seven billion naira with least being the Law, Peace and Justice sector with over one point five billion naira.
He said the budget tagged “Budget of Continuity, Consolidation and Economic Transformation would focus more on completion of all ongoing projects in pursuance of Government’s post-insurgency recovery and speedy socio-economic development programme.
Governor Buni commended the legislators for the smooth working relationship and promised to continue to work for sustainable peace and prosperity of the state as he appealed for speedy passage of the bills.
While responding to the presentation of the governor, the Speaker, Yobe state House of Assembly, Lawan Ahmed Mirwa promised improved relationship to guarantee speedy development of the state.
He promised on behalf of the Assembly to passed the budget on time.
