Niger State Police Command says it is leaving no stone unturned at ensuring a hitch free twenty twenty three general elections in all the twenty five local government councils of the state.
This is in furtherance to the directives to that effect at ensuring adequate security and conducive environment for twenty twenty three general elections by the Inspector General of Police Usman Alkali Baba to Commissioners of Police.
Commissioner of Police In Charge of Niger State Mr Ogundele Ayodeji stated this at an Inter Agency Consultative Committee on Electiion Security Meeting held in Minna the Niger state capital.
Mr Ogundele Ayodeji explained that the meeting is geared towards strengthening cooperation and collaboration among various security agencies saddled with the responsibility of providing security for a free, fair, and credible conduct of this years general elections with the Nigeria Police Force as the lead agency in election security management.
According to him it would also served as an avenue where heads of security agencies reviewed security situation of the State and brainstormed on pooling resources together such as manpower, vehicles, and other logistics, as well as ensuring strategic deployment of security personnel and operational assets with constant supervision of officers and men from these agencies scheduled for the forthcoming general elections.
Some of the security agencies that were present at the meeting include the Military, Department of State Services DSS, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps DSCDC Correctional Service, Immigration and Customs Service, NDLEA, FRSC and Fire Service.
