The Director General of Michael Imoudu Institute For Labour Studies (MINILS), Ilorin, Comrade Issa Aremu has urged Nigerians to protect the nation’s democratic Institutions and pray for a peaceful 2023 general elections.
The Director General made the call while speaking at the celebration of birthday of Prophet Muhammad organised by the Institutes Muslim community in Ilorin.
He said that the year 2023 is an important year for Nigeria as the nation will mark 24 years of uninterrupted democracy.
Comrade Aremu urged Nigerians to shun any tendencies that could bring back military rule.
Aremu noted that democracy has brought stability and development to the country in the last 24 years.
He urged Nigerians to give thanks to God for keeping the nation as one indivisible entity,noting that some of its peers have disintegrated.
The Director General expressed delight over the modest achievements of MINILS under his watch, adding that the institute will be 40 years old this year.
He commended President Muhammadu Buhari for ensuring that no single Nigerians lost his job as a result of the economic challenges .
He described the setting up of a committee by the federal government to review workers salary as highly commendable .END
