Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq says his administration will use the second term tenure to focus on human capital development and strengthen the state economy.
Governor AbdulRazq stated this in his speech shortly after being administered oath of office alongside the Deputy governor Mr Kayode Alabi by the state Chief Judge, Justice Abiodun Adebara at the Council Chamber Government House,Ilorin
According to him the second tenure would also be used to consolidate on the gains of the first tenure and lay new foundations for sustained socioeconomic development and institutional growth in the state.
He said in line with his oath of office his administration will deepen the reforms and investments in the critical sectors which include l education, healthcare delivery, civil service welfare, social safety programmes,and general infrastructural upgrade among others.
Governor AbdulRazq explained that his administration spending priorities will be to complete all the ongoing infrastructural projects and iron out the business models to deliver maximum benefits to the people.
He said adequate attention will be focused on completing projects like the Ilorin International Conference Centre, the Revenue House, Innovation Hub, Visual Arts Centre, Sugar Film Factory, Osi and Ilesha Baruba campuses of the Kwara State University,as well as industrial park.
The governor said affordable housing programme will be given necessary attention to help civil servants and other citizens to own their own homes.
He said the state government will also curb unplanned construction and support decent living conditions.
Governor AbdulRazq maintained that his administration will enter into partnerships with private and federal government agencies to develop new satellite towns already mapped out in the Ilorin City Master Plan as well as in GRA lands in parts of Kwara South and Kwara North.
In his remark the deputy governor of Kwara state Mr . Kayode Alabi, urged the people of the state to continue to support the administration to enable it succeed
He said the state government will continue to prioritise the interest of the people over all other considerations.
Earlier in her address the Head of the Civil Service of Kwara state,Mrs Susan Modupe commended the Governor’s first term tenure, which was quite fruitful for the civil service and the entire state.
She said governor AbdulRazaq practically resuscitated the dignity of the state Civil Service by providing a good working environment for workers, including easy movement of staff. END
