Governor Umar Mohammed Bago of Niger state has said that under his new administration all Vice Chairman and Secretary positions of the twenty five local government councils are to be occupied by women.
Similarly ninety percent of the appointments of members of his cabinet are to be given to the youth in his renewed hope of developing the state to an enviable heights.
Alh Umar Mohammed Bago stated this in his inaugural speech after he was sworn in as the new Governor of Niger state by the Chief Judge of the state Justice Halima Ibrahim in Minna.
According to him women and youth will be given the desired consideration they deserved in view of their importance and contribution to the growth and development of Niger state.
Alh Umar who itemised about nine point agenda that his administration intend to pursue with vigour to include Security Commerce Education Agriculture Tourism Civil Service Infrastructure and Health among others maintained that the task of moving Niger state to the next level required collective efforts by all and sundry to succeed.
He however said tackling insecurity and provision of welfare of citizens is the primary purpose of any government and they will do everything possible within their powers through collaboration with security agencies both at the national level and beyond to succeed.
On power Alh Umar Mohammed Bago assured Nigerlites of constant supply of electricity stressing that the fact that Niger state is housing four hydro power dams that is supplying electricity to Nigeria they must have power two four seven under his leadership as Governor.
The brand new Niger state Governor who was sworn in along with his Deputy Comrade Yakubu Garba assured Nigerlites that they will exibit high level of transparency and accountability in the management of resources entrusted to them to move forward.
