Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Auwal Zubairu Gambo has commissioned the new department of maritime warfare complex at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji, Kaduna State.
While commissioning the complex, the Naval Chief explained that the ceremony was another significant milestone among several initiatives in the comprehensive transformation plan articulated for infrastructural development towards effective discharge of their constitutional mandate.
He pointed out that the complex would ameliorate the shortage of office spaces and syndicate rooms being experienced, as well as provide necessary comfort to enhance teaching and learning.
Also speaking, a former Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Suleiman Sa’idu noted that the department of maritime plays a crucial role towards the actualization of the college goals in furtherance of national defence objectives, especially from contemporary maritime perspectives.
He expressed delight over the tremendous developmental projects witnessed by the department, which has facilitated a more fulfilling learning environment.
In his welcome address, Commandant of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji, Air Vice Marshal Emmanuel Wonah said the complex was built to cater for the projected increase in the number of students for future courses, as well as to support other activities in the college.
The newly commissioned complex is equipped with a 207 seater capacity auditorium, 10 syndicate rooms, 3 briefing rooms, 1 operations room, a foyer, offices and a state of the art training facilities.
