Jigawa state pilgrims welfare board has concluded the airlift of over 1,600 of the state intending pilgrims in 4 batches to Saudi arabia for the 2023 hajj exercise.
In an interview with Radio Nigeria at Nuhu Muhammadu Sanusi International airport before their departure, the Executive Secretary of the board, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo said, the first batch of 559 intending pilgrims of the state have been airlifted through Max Air from Nuhu Muhammadu Sunusi International Airport to Madina on 31st May,2023.
According to him, the second flight take-off on Saturday night with total number of 358 pilgrims,Including some centre officers, medical personnel and some officials of the board by Azman Air.
He added that, the third batch of 406 intending pilgrims from Jigawa state airlifted from Dutse to Jeddah yesterday 7th June, adding that the last flight with total number over 255 pilgrims were airlifted aboard Azman Air.
Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo pointed out that, the third and last last batch of the pilgrims is expected to arrive at Jeddah International Airport.
He said the board had recorded tremendous success in orientation exercise, securing of Visa BTA, screening of pligrims among others and commended the state government, National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON and Security agencies for the support and cooperation given to the board during this year’s hajj operations.
The Executive Secretary also commended the management of Radio Nigeria kaduna for the professionalism exhibited as well as unrelented cooperation given to the board at all times, urging them to maintain to good working relationship that exist between the two organisations.
Also speaking, the Director Oprations of the board, Alhaji Muhammad Garba urged them to be good ambassadors of the state and the counrty in general during their stay in the holy land.
He called on the pilgrims to pray for peace, unity and progress of Jigawa and Nigeria at large.
Radio Nigeria reports that some of the pilgrims interviewed expressed satisfaction with the state pilgrims welfare board for the warm reception accorded to them while at the hajj camp.
They also commended the welfare unit of the board for taking good care of them as well as the security agencies for professionalism they exhibited during the screening exercise both at the hajj camp and the Airport.
