A total of thirteen members of Vigilante have been killed and another thirty persons abducted in a renewed attack by bandits in Kusharki village of Kagara local government council of Niger state.
The incident took place Wednesday night when some large number of bandits on motorcycles storm the area carrying dangerous weapons and shooting sporadically on air to scare the villagers.
One of the Vigilante member in the area who pleaded anonymity told Radio Nigeria that they have engaged each other on a piece battle for ours trying to secure their environment but were overpowered by the bandits.
When contacted on telephone Chairman Kagara local government council Alh Usman Ayuba Katako who was devastated by the attack could not however give the exact number of casualty and those abducted saying that he was at the hospital trying to do the needful.
Just last week Niger state Governor Alh Umar Mohammed Bago has met with security agencies in his efforts to address cases of insurgency in parts of the state.
Also in his speech during the inauguration of some principal officers at the Goverment House Minna the Governor said he is doing everything possible to ensure that insecurity in Niger state became a thing of the past
