Heads of security agencies in Niger state have been summoned to appear before the State House of Assembly today(Wednesday) to explain why there is increase in cases of attacks by bandits in some parts of the state.
The Speaker Niger State House Of Assembly Barrister Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji stated this while interacting with Newsmen after the inauguration of tenth Assembly in Minna.
Barrister Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji explained that members of the tenth Assembly in Niger state are worried about the unwanton killings and destruction of properties and are ready to support and ecourage any move targeted at bringing an end to cases of banditry in the state.
Of recent the bandits have threatened to sack the entire people of Pandogari in Rafi local government council coupled with repeated attacks in parts of the local government that led many villagers to fled their ancestral homes for fear of being abducted or killed.
Just yesterday after the inauguration of members of Niger State House of Assembly in Minna it was alleged that some un specified number of people who came from Mariga to share the joy with new Speaker where abducted on their way back at Bangi road headquarters of Mariga local government.
The bandits were also said to have set ablaze half of Ukuru village also in Mariga local government council after killing one person and abducting some travellers.
They also killed many people in Kontagora and Mashegu local government councils in addition to the abduction of many to their hideouts a situation that called for concerted efforts by all to succeed.
