Federal University Gusau, Zamfara State says, they are communicating with the parents of the abducted students and security agencies for the release of the abductees.
The Vice Chancellor of the University Processor Mu’azu Abubakar announced this while answering questions from newsmen on the development.
Represented by the Director library of the institution Dr Aliyu Gadanga Tsafe, said various measures have been taken to secure the release of the students, adding that security agencies were now deployed within the school environment and beyond to protect lives and properties of the students and staff.
He further explained that, the major problems which become the stumbling blocks to the security situation of the institution which to include lack of perimeter fence and hostels accommodation inside the school compound.
Professor Muazu therefore called on students and their parents to remained calm as the management, state government and security agencies are working tirelessly to address the issue permanently.
He also appealed to federal and state governments as well as wealthy individuals and organizations to assist the university with funds and other infrastructures to fence the school and also build hostels students inside the school.
It could be recalled that, on last Saturday morning Students of the University Gusau blocked Gusau-Funtua road protesting over the abduction of their students.
Some students told Radio Nigeria in Gusau that, many students were kidnapped in the past but no action was taken to rescue them either by the management of the institution or the police.
Five students of the institution were abducted by bandits on Friday night, three males and two girls a situation which has angered the students to block the road as a result of which several motorists were left stranded for several hours.
When Radio Nigeria Correspondent in Gusau visited the university witnessed the presence of heavy security personnel including Police, Army, Civil Defence among others.
