Katsina state government has directed for the demolition of all structure eracted on water ways.
Deputy Governor Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe gave the directive when he visited the scene of the flooding at Sabuwar Unguwar Gadar Nayalli in Katsina metropolis.
He said the measure became necessary in view of the fact that, people eracted structures on water ways which block water to flow smoothly.
According to him, government has directed all the ministries, Departments and Agencies related to the issues to ensure that, proper solutions were provided towards averting reoccurrence of such menace.
The Deputy Governor said, government will not fold it arms to allow people recklessly causing loss of lives and property.
Also speaking the Member representing Katsina Local Government in the state house of assembly Ali Abu Albaba said, Legislators have already promulgated laws that prevent environment.
The Executive Secretary State Emergency Management Agency SEMA Hajiya Binta Hussaini Dangan said all necessary assistance will be given to the victims of the flooding.
She said on the spot assessement had already been taken for providing succor to the victims.
