Katsina state Deputy governor Mallam Faruk Lawal Jobe has inaugurated state Committee for the verification of al liabilities in the state.
While inaugurating the Committee the deputy governor said, the committee is part of government commitment to ensure transparency, accountability fairness to all contractors owing government liabilities.
He expressed the confidence that, members of the committee are equal to the task in view of the composition of people and their expertise on their profession.
The Deputy Governor Mallam Faruk Lawal Jobe urged them to be dedicated to the assignment given to them and summit the report within the stipulated time.
Earlier the Secretary to the Government of the state Architect Ahmad Musa Dangiwa said the terms of reference of the committee include to identifying all liabilities of the state government, identify budgetary provisions made on such liabilities amount paid and balance.
other terms include applicability if such liabilities falls under joint funding or are under counterpart funding basis.
Others according to him, is to review budgetary provisions of such liabilities and advise government as appropriate, advise government on alternative ways to source for funding to settle verified liabilities, among others.
The committee is to submit a interim report within one month fom the date of its inauguration.
The Committee has Architect Almajir Salihu as Chairman, while the members include, Engineer Sani Magaji, Alhaji Shamsuddeen Sanusi Ahmad, QS Suleiman Musawa, Engineer Babangida Yahaya Abubakar and Architect Bashir Muhammad Idris.
Others are QS Nakano Lawal, Muhammad Shamsuddeen Salisu Architect Umma Dambo while the Secretary of the committee Hussaini Yalladan will come from Governor’s Office.
