The Katsina Governor Dr Dikko Radda, has condemned the attack on his Chief of staff Alh Jabiru Tsauri by gunmen.
Governor Radda, in a statement by his Chief press secretary Ibrahim Muhammad, described the attack as reprehensible and called for a thorough investigation to ensure that justice is served.
According to him, the safety and security of public officials and citizens remain of utmost importance, and any violation of this fundamental right will not be tolerated.
Governor Radda, directed relevant security agencies to intensify their efforts in uncovering the motives behind the attack and swiftly bringing all culprits to justice.
The governor also urged the public to remain calm and fully cooperate with the ongoing investigation, saying information pertaining to the incident or related activities should be promptly shared with the appropriate law enforcement agencies.
He also expressed the gratitude of the state government to police authorities for their swift response and decisive action in apprehending the suspects.
The Chief of Staff Alhaji Jabiru Tsauri, was attacked by unidentified assailants on his way to Kaduna, at a location known as Gorar Yammama.
According to Alh Tsauri, while en route to Kaduna, he and his driver encountered a recent accident near the Gorar Yammama highway area, leading to significant traffic congestion.
He said once their car was finally able to move away from the accident site, the assailants, armed with firearms, targeted their vehicle, firing shots at the tires and body of the car in an attempt to harm him, but that the courageous actions of his driver, who managed to sped away to safety in a nearby town.
