The Concerned Northern Lawyers Forum have expressed worry over the recent airstrikes on innocent civilians which resulted to loss of many lives and others injured at Tudun Biri Community in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Addressing newsmen on behalf of the forum, Barrister Nafi’u Abubakar expressed the resolve of the legal fraternity in Northern Nigeria to support the affected victims and their families, and to also ensure that justice is served, and rights of the victims are protected.
He appealed to the Federal Government to take immediate and decisive action to ensure a thorough and independent investigation into the incident, while preventive measures are put in place to forestall future re-occurrence of the incident.
Barrister Nafi’u Abubakar also called on the military to exercise utmost caution to avoid further instances of collateral damage and civilian casualties.
Also speaking, Barrister Aliyu Usman Hajji disclosed that over 600 Northern lawyers have volunteered to pursue legal action until justice is served to Tudun Biri victims.
The forum extended its condolences to the families who lost their loved ones and vowed to work tirelessly to pursue legal means to claim the compensation that is owed to the victims.
