Troops of 1 division Nigerian Army in conjunction with Kaduna Vigilance Service acting on credible intelligence on the movement of bandits around Dogon Dawa-Damari area in Igabi LGA, have today, laid an ambush on the bandits in an effort to clear criminals from the forests.
According to a statement by Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations 1 Division, Lt Colonel Musa Yahaya says during the fire fight that ensued, bandits fled in disarray due to superior firepower of the troops.
It explains that troops exploited the general area and recovered one Berata pistol, one AK-47 rifle and one AK-47 rifle magazine.
Similarly, troops deployed to kwanar mutua in Birnin Gwari LGA received intelligence on bandits presence, where they swiftly moved to the area and came in contact with the criminal elements.
The troops engaged the criminals with overwhelming firepower, forcing them to flee in disarray into the nearby high ground.
The statement adds that the troops exploited the general area and recovered three motorcycles abandoned by the bandits.
