As part of activities to commemorate this year’s Armed Forces Rememberance Day celebrations, the Air Training Command of the Nigerian Airforce has organised a two day medical outreach and seminar for veterans resident in Kaduna State.
The event brought together, retired personnel who served at both the Airmen/Airwomen and Officers cadre.
In a brief remark at the event, Commander 461 NAF hospital Kaduna, Group Captain Ahmed Sa’idu explained that the essence of the medical outreach programme was to celebrate the veterans, and an opportunity to evaluate their health status.
He pointed out that it was also an avenue to render extra care, as well as offer medical advices where necessary.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to Radio Nigeria, Wing Commander Asma’u Abdullahi (rtd), Master Warrant Officer Yusuf Usman (rtd), as well as Master Warrant Officer Oyiwolo (rtd), commended the Federal Government and the Nigerian Airforce in particular for the gesture, and for remembering them in old age.
Some of the medical services rendered to the veterans included blood pressure, sugar, eye and dental checks, as well as administering of drugs.
