*NDA Holds Interdenominational Church Service To Celebrate Sixtieth Anniversary*
It was another day of celebration when Christian faithful converged on The Saviour’s Chapel(Protestant) Church for an Interdenominational Service to commemorate NDA’s diamond jubilee.
The thanksgiving service witnessed a large turnout of officers, their families, cadets and other members of staff to commemorate the occasion.
Addressing the congregation, Commandant of the NDA, Major General John Ochai explained that the thanksgiving was significant because it was a way to thank God for his mercies over the years.
He pointed out that the service was unique because it symbolizes unity of purpose in the Armed Forces, where some christian faithful participated in the last special Juma’at Prayer, and some Muslim faithful participated in the thanksgiving service.
The Commandant, who attributed the successes recorded over the years to God, however expressed optimism that the Academy would overcome its challenges, going forward.
He disclosed that the NDA would soon witness massive infrastructural development and an improved training for cadets.
Major General Ochai pledged the continuous loyalty of the NDA to constituted authority and the Nigerian people.
Earlier in his sermon, the Academy Chaplain (Protestant), Lt Colonel(Reverend) Emmanuel Adamu explained that the service was about appreciating God for his mercies over the Academy for the past sixty years.
While expressing his trust in God for a better and glorious future, the clergyman charged officers and other staff to sustain their loyalty to Nigeria.
Highlights of the event were praise and worship, reading of first lesson-Isaiah 55:6-7, second lesson-James 4:6-10, song ministration, song presentation, combined choir anthem, and intercessory prayers, among others.
