Edo 2024; 12 APC aspirants receive certificate of screening
The National Organizing Secretary of the All Progressives Congress APC Alh Suleiman Argungu, says all the 12 gubernatorial aspirants in the forthcoming APC primaries in Edo State have been screened and cleared to contest.
Argungu stated this while presenting the certificates of screening to the twelve aspirants at the APC headquarters in Abuja.
According to him, the screening committee has reported that all the 12 aspirants have fulfilled the requirements and were screened successfully.
“I’m very happy that all the 12 aspirants have been screened hundred percent. The screening committee has done a thorough job to ensure that the aspirants have been screened successfully so that we would avoid litigation in the event any one of them emerge as a candidate and also as a governor of Edo State.
“We’re fulfilling the provisions of the party constitution and the guidelines to ensure that we’re on the right path, ensure that all our aspirants would feel that there is a level play ground for all of them to contest for the governorship election in Edo State.
The Chairman of the screening committee, represented by a member of the committee Honourable Adewoye Adelaku, stated that during the two day screening excercise, the committee was able to go through the documents and interrogated the aspirants.
He added that the committee found the 12 aspirants all worthy of contesting for the party primaries.
The 12 aspirants screened include Prince Clem Agba, Senator Okpebholo, Mr Lucky Imasuen, Anamero Dekeri, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and Gideon Ikhine.
Others include Col. David Imuse (Rtd), Gen. Charles Ehigie Airhiavbere (Rtd), Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor, Blessing Agbomhere
